The primary use of ammonia sulfate is as a fertilizer for alkaline soils. In the soil, the ammonia ion is released and forms a small amount of acid, lowering the pH balance of the soil, while contributing essential nitrogen for plant growth. Ammonia sulfate has several benefits in addition to providing quick grass growth and reducing soil pH levels in alkaline lawns. It is easy to store and does not melt in high humidity like ammonia nitrate, another high nitrogen fertilizer. www.lifecycleorganics.ca
